TWO PROGRAMMES · ONE PATHWAY

FIND YOUR LEVEL

From first-touch Foundation to the flagship Talent Development Programme, every Yoshi FA pathway is built on the same method — structured year-round development, mentor-led coaching, and a direct route to professional football.

THE FUNNEL

TWO DOORS. ONE METHOD.

Yoshi FA runs two programmes — Foundation and the Talent Development Programme. Each is the natural next step from the last. Most players enter at Foundation under the age of 12; serious U-13+ players join the TDP via open trial.

PROGRAMME 01 · AFTER-SCHOOL · U-8 TO U-12

FOUNDATION

Where the next generation of Yoshi FA players starts. Twice-weekly, term-based, and built on first-touch fundamentals.

Foundation is our youngest entry point. Twice-weekly 90-minute sessions teaching ball mastery, basic 1v1 mechanics, positional awareness, and the football character we instill at every level — discipline, resilience, respect for the coach, respect for the game. Most TDP applicants come through Foundation. It's the easiest way for parents to see whether their child loves the sport enough to commit to a development pathway.

TALENT DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAMME

12 months. Four phases. Four sessions a week. The Yoshi FA flagship — the pathway built to turn ambitious Nigerian players into professionals.

The TDP is the reason Yoshi FA exists. A year-long, residency-style development programme structured into four 3-month phases: Technical Foundations → Tactical Build → Physical Conditioning → Match Exposure. Each phase builds on the last; nothing is improvised.

Players train four times a week with a full technical staff (head coach, assistants, S&C lead, performance analyst). Monthly performance reports. Yoshi Tournaments entry. Scout access from the second phase onwards. This is the door to professional football we built.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Which programme should my child start with?

If they're under 12, start with Foundation and let them fall in love with the game first. From U-13 onwards, the TDP is the right entry point — 4 sessions a week, a full coaching staff, and a structured pathway to professional football.

Do I need to live in Abuja to join the TDP?

No, but you need to be able to attend four sessions a week. Most non-Abuja TDP players relocate or arrange family accommodation in the city. We can advise on logistics for accepted applicants.

Can my child stay at Foundation past U-12?

Foundation runs to U-12. Players who want to keep training with Yoshi FA after that move into the TDP — either by direct application or after a coach-recommended invitation following their final Foundation term. There is no in-between programme; the TDP is the next step.

How are the 25 TDP places selected?

By open trial in Abuja, every Saturday from May through August. Coaches assess fundamentals, character, and game IQ across a 90-minute session. Acceptance letters go out in mid-August.

Is there financial assistance?

Yes — partial scholarships are awarded to a small number of players each cohort based on potential and family circumstance. Speak to admissions during application.
